Vienna Christmas Markets, Austria

As Christmas is rapidly approaching, we decided to get into the Christmas spirit by going to the Vienna Christmas Markets in Vienna, Austria.

We took an overnight train from Lausanne to Vienna on Thursday night and were out exploring Vienna Friday and Saturday before heading home to Lausanne on Sunday. The Markets were open on Saturday and Saturday night while we explored Vienna on Friday. It was so much fun traveling with new groups of people and getting to know each one of them. On Friday night at dinner, we annoyed the waitress by having a three hour dinner because we were telling each other about selves. It was eye opening and wonderful to get to know new people. The Vienna Christmas Markets were beautiful and simply breathtaking. The lights were lovely and presence of Christmas cheer and candor surrounded every booth. Later that night we went iceskating on a Vienna ice-rink that only local were at! It was a surreal experience and wonderful to be back on the ice enjoying friends company and teaching people how to ice-skate.

Overall it was a lovely weekend filled with food, friends, and of course- Christmas.
