Lausanne, Switzerland

As the first seven days in Lausanne, Switzerland come to a close I am so excited to spend the next eight months here!

Lausanne is a unique place that is full of diversity, hills, and beautiful views.

After moving into the house on Wednesday, I probably have taken over 100 photos of the view from my room because it is so beautiful. The house is on Lac Léman, which is how the Swiss refer to it, but it is known as Lake Geneva. From my bedroom I can see the train tracks, houses, lake, and France (which is on the other side of the lake).

hile laying on my bed, I have a beautiful view of the French mountains. Casual right?

The house is over seven stories high with balconies and rooms all the way to the top. I am on the first floor with six other lovely ladies and ten guys.

On Saturday, our class went on a walk along the Lake and made a new friend and there I saw a swan for the first time. There are hundreds of swan on the lake, which is pretty good change from hundreds of seagulls at the beach.

After our walk, a few of us went to the restaurant at the train station where we ordered cappuccinos and sat for hours talking. Our waiter hated us the second she learned we were American and she did not hold back her sass.

Most of the week has been spent at Orientation meetings or events that were tedicous but informational (and sometimes boring). In general, I have really enjoyed getting acclimated to my new home and the beauty of this incredible country (and a killer view!)
